LOCAL AND GLOBAL- AT THE SAME TIME
We believe that the church is the missionary representative of Jesus' kingdom here on earth. Jesus is actively working to redeem people both locally and across the world. Every believer has a part to play and a place to contribute, and we are committed to helping each one join God's redemptive movement.
Summer of Mission 2024
This summer, we are hosting opportunities for you and your groups to serve in the Greater Richmond Area. From building beds for those in foster care to having a cookout with International Students, you have multiple ways to serve. For more information, check out the links below
Belt Atlantic
Assist New Life Tabernacle with an after school enrichment program for kids at the Belt Atlantic Apartments. You can sign up to bring sandwiches, sit with the kids during the program, and help as needed. If you have kids, you can bring them with you! The program runs 5:30-7:30pm. Multiple dates available over the summer.
Cookout with International Students
On July 30th, help host a cookout at Movement to meet and interact with international students from VCU who are in the US for their higher education.
Evangelism with Missionary Trainees
On the afternoons of August 13 and 14, join a team of missionaries in training from the IMB who will be walking, praying, and sharing the gospel around Richmond.
Build Night
On June 20th, help construct beds for foster kids, assemble new picnic tables for Movement’s playground area, and build birdhouses for an upcoming grief retreat.
Vacation Bible School- Volunteers
There are a variety of ways you can volunteer for VBS on July 15-19th, register to sign up:
- Group leader
- Greeting team
- Buddy (Special needs helper)
- Snack team for volunteers
- Childcare for kids 2 and under
Outdoor Movie Night
On August 16, help host an outdoor movie event at Movement for the church and surrounding community on the last Friday night before most kids return to school.
Domination Concert- Volunteers
On June 28th, help host a Christian hip hop concert for the community at Movement. We need people to serve in various ways: setup, host, serve food to the group of Belt Atlantic kids coming, and clean up.
Teacher Gift Bags
On July 25th, Assemble and pack gift bags to encourage teachers who are returning to the classroom at Cardinal Elementary. (Cardinal is one of a few schools in RPS that is nearly year-round.)
Saturday Morning SHINE
Thank you for your Yes to shining the light and love of Jesus in the Creighton & Upper Mosby Court communities! SHINE is a family friendly experience that is about relationships, fun, food, crafts, games, sports, reading, fitness, prayer, worship, encouragement, discipleship, and most importantly, Jesus.

As the Sending Pastor, Jared oversees Movement's efforts to advance the kingdom of God, represents Jesus' compassionate heart, and plant churches both locally and globally. His desire is to identify, equip, send, and provide care for people who say "yes" to God's mission.
